6.7 Getting Started with Capture Bot

Step-by-step, from zero to live:

  1. Meet access conditions

    • Either:

      • Hold ≥ 15M SPREAD at snapshot, or

      • Pay the SOL fees for non-token access.

    • Complete KYC.

  2. Connect wallet

    • Link the wallet that will:

      • Hold your trading capital.

      • Pay fees.

    • You keep custody; Bot uses permissions you explicitly grant.

  3. Set risk parameters

    • Choose:

      • Per-trade risk (within max 2% cap).

      • Daily loss cap (default 5%, can be lower).

      • Max per-trade size and total allocated capital.

  4. Pick strategy set

    • You can:

      • Enable/disable certain strategy classes (e.g. only cross-DEX, no stat-arb).

      • Choose permissiveness on edges (min profit bps).

  5. Dry run / simulation mode (recommended)

    • Run Bot in “paper trading” mode:

      • Uses live data.

      • Logs trades, but doesn’t send transactions.

    • Compare theoretical PnL vs what you would have gotten live.

  6. Go live with small capital

    • Start with small allocated capital and tight limits.

    • Monitor:

      • Execution quality (slippage vs expected).

      • Hit rate.

      • Stability of infra.

  7. Scale gradually

    • Increase capital and/or loosen thresholds only if:

      • PnL is consistent.

      • Execution quality is explained and stable.

      • You’ve seen stress scenarios (vol spikes, congestion) without blow-ups.

If you skip steps 5–7 and go max size from day one, that’s not Capture Bot’s fault, that’s you being reckless.
